Rev. Mary Beene, M.Div., M.P.A.
Mary Beene is a life coach, pastor, spiritual director, retreat leader, and speaker. She works with individuals, groups, and churches to deepen their spiritual experience and help them discern God’s calling. She blends her 12+ years of nonprofit management experience with her spiritual training to bring a unique skill set to help those who want to go deeper into their faith and achieve more with their lives and work.
Mary Beene was a pastor for ten years in Rincon, GA. She has led retreats and workshops for Presbyterians for Earth Care, Epworth United Methodist Church in Jesup, GA, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Rincon, GA, and First African Baptist Church in Savannah. She regularly leads workshops for the Savannah Presbytery and has led several weekend retreats for women’s groups on Wilmington Island, Skidaway Island, and First Presbyterian Church in Savannah.
Prior to entering ministry, Rev. Beene worked in leadership development and strategic planning for nonprofit organizations in Washington, DC and Boston. She has successfully transitioned her primary work in fundraising to church stewardship. She also has a background in conflict transformation and can help churches and individuals who are struggling. She has completed part 1 of transitional ministry training in the PC(USA) and can help congregations with mission studies and pastoral call situations.
In addition to an M.Div from Boston University School of Theology, Rev. Beene has an M.P. A. in Organizational Development from American University in Washington, DC. She is also trained in spiritual direction by The Shalem Institute in Washington, DC and is a Georgia Certified Civil Mediator. Her special interests include the connection between God’s creation and spirituality, creative prayer practices and spiritual writing and autobiography.
